Shannon Riley's father passed away unexpectedly last night. Please pray for the Riley family. Shannon is on her way home from Florida, so pray that her journey goes well. We will update as we hear more.
Myspace.com is a controversial place. Many people I know will not even look at it, others (I've noticed a lot of pillsbury alumni!) use it regularly. Obviously, I do not want this site to be offensive to anyone, but I have decided to link to the myspace accounts of pillsbury alumni who provide me with a link (and whose sites are decent, which I think could have gone without saying). Visiting these sites is "at your own risk" and a personal choice for each viewer of this blog. We had such interesting comments on the music question, and I would be very interested to hear your views about myspace.com. Who uses it? Why do you use it? Who has a negative opinion of it? How did you form those opinions? Click on the comment box below this post and let us know your views!
I don't know exactly how he did it, so I won't go into details, but Micah Holtzinger managed to fix this blog to show up at pillsburyalumni.com as well as at pillsburyalumni.blogspot.com. This might help make this site easier to find. Please continue to check back and tell your friends to as well.
Note*** This information is not something I have researched a great deal, so please look into this opportunity on your own for more details! ***
While not trying to be argumentative (as I am well aware that this can be a controversial issue within Pillsbury circles and beyond) I am interested in hearing what some of you might feel about the stringent music standards imposed upon us during our time at Pillsbury. Are you glad to be free from the restraints and able to make your own choices? Do you feel that the teaching in classes like Music Orientation helped or hindered you in the music choices you make these days? To start us off, I feel as though the music standards at Pillsbury were stricter than I cared for, but learning about classical music helped me to develop an appreciation for it, and also helped to shape what music I choose for my daughter to listen to. After doing all of the great work of setting up this blog, Jeremy found himself swamped, and offered me (Naomi Williams) the fun of trying to fill his very computer-literate shoes. I am a fan of blogging, but still quite a novice, so please, bear with me!
