Christmas Memories

Does anyone have any great Christmas-time memories from our Pillsbury years? I personally have about 18 years of Pillsbury Christmas Open House memories as I attended those faithfully since I can remember. They were always a highlight of my holidays as a child, and then as a college student they were that much more fun. Let us know your favorite holiday memories from Pills!

OK. For the Christmas memories...hehehee. Since I was not at all familiar with Pilly before 2000, I would have to say that the first Christmas memory stands out with the Open House of 2001 coming in close second. Of course, I dont think that I was able to attend any others beyond that year due to an increasing amount of children each year.
I digress. Open House of 2000 never really did happen for me. Steve had come up to Crown (the college I was attending at the time) and picked me up to attend the Cantata and Open House. We got stuck in traffic on 494, and spent an hour and a half making a two mile hike. We made it to Owatonna with about ten minutes to spare, and due to the differing speed zones within town, Steve got caught going the right speed in the wrong part of town. After a friendly written reminder NOT to do that again, we made our way to Pilly, and made it to Old Main 3 minutes late. Honore' was on duty, and told us that we had to stay downstairs because there was no more room. After explaining to Honore' what had happened, he allowed Steve to get credit for being there so he would not be fined.
The Open House in 2001 sticks out mainly because of who I was with. This was the first Christmas after Steve and I married, and I was pregnate with Abbi at the time. Crystal Trandem and Kate Sievers were roomates, and I was their accomplice. Their room was tactfully and tastefully decorated, but they had in thier possession a vibrating pillow. This became the beginning of seeing how many faculty and staff would rest their weary soles (feet) after climing three flights of stairs. The first two or three did not go over very well, then things started getting funny along time Hudson, Casey, and DePenning came along. DePenning started laughing and thanked us, Hudson moved the pillow to his back, and Casey tried to confiscate the pillow entirely. Rathbun asked if he could borrow it for the rest of the semester-he had some students he had to prank. By the end, pretty much all of the staff and falculty had made it to the room, and Champion made clear that if the pillow didnt move, she would move it herself.
Who says that we cant have fun with rules??? heehehehe
